When I was approaching 60 I wanted to make the year special to take my mind off the thought of getting older so I started to make a list of things I’d always wanted to do but just not got round to.

I felt the same at 30 so 90 might be a problem!
I wrote down about 40 things and realised that other things would crop up which I couldn’t predict so I decided to take the whole of 2011 to do 60 things. I thought this was a bit ambitious but worth a try, and it has turned out easier and more rewarding than I could ever have expected. Anybody of any age could do this and the list will be personal to them.

I can honestly say that the whole thing has been a win-win situation. I’ve done loads of interesting things with family and friends so I’ve always got something to talk about.

It has given me things to look forward to and things to remember and many of them have cost me nothing at all. I’ve also had facinating insights into other peoples worlds and I’m a better and happier person for it.
